Seb and Hippys adventure part 2

Continued from part 1

Day 3:

ALMUNECAR CLIMB,( day ride or 2 days)

(Wild camping and canp sites with shower at Fornes and Arenas del Rey)

In the Sierra de las Guajaras

In the Sierra de las Guajaras

from MALAGA, head East on the motorway to ALMUNECAR. Long and boring high way ride! But we promise worth the trip! Try to leave very early morning and be at Almunecar by 8:00 / 9:00am.

Find the A 7106 heading North. On the left hand side of this road, you will find a track which runs  heading the same way . You can take this if you want a nice of road

section! You can also explore further if you want to, but make sure you get back on the main road at the end or you will end up on the other side of the mountain with very steep hills and dangerous off road sections! If you stay on this off road section you can ride off road all day, but again very dangerous but fun!! Only for experience off road riders!!

Back on the A 7106 climb up and up and up!! 10 out of 10 mark for this road ,one of the best we have done in 25 years of biking!!

On your right you will see the  Sierra del Chaparral, where you will find some off road section here! Do be careful on those tracks steep cliff hedges! Carry on to the top and you will find a GS paradise off roads tracks all around you, In the Sierra de las Guajaras. This will take you off road all afternoon if you want to, and lots of places to wild camp! Discover and enjoy in there.

Lets put it this way we will be back in this area, for sure!

From sea level to a 1400 m climb left turn to JAYENA.

Again plenty of off roads sections here from LOPERA to JAYENA and JAYENA to VENTA  DEL FRAITE but head at the end towards Fornes and go all around the lake!

Great place to stay over night, camping or wild camping!

From here you can head back towards MALAGA on the A335.

Voila!!!

Hope this will help some of you guys and have fun up there!

Do ride safely and slowly everywhere! These spanish roads are very tricky and some are very technical. Drink plenty of water, stay focus at all time and do not attempt off road section on your own, these are a few of our recommendation to you!

Once more Russ thanks, we'll be back!
